T-Mobile wrongfully charges 20 year customer

Billing Blunder: Consumer Faces Fees and Collections Nightmare After Failed Cancellation

Telecom companies are ramping up their efforts to claim the top spot as leading carriers, but not all tactics are winning customer trust. Some AT&T users have reported sales reps posting fake reviews under their names, leaving many wary. Now, T-Mobile is under fire after a longtime customer accused the company of wrongful charges despite canceling services.

In a viral TikTok video, Isabella reveals her mother’s frustration with T-Mobile. Despite being a loyal customer for two decades, her mom faced fraudulent billing of around $500 after attempting to switch to Mint Mobile. After requesting a cancellation, she stopped receiving paper bills and assumed the transition was complete. However, in February 2025, she discovered T-Mobile was still charging $120 monthly.

When questioned, T-Mobile admitted one line wasn’t canceled and promised a refund of $120 and further reimbursements. Yet, instead of delivering, they claimed charges from September to February were valid. They even added late fees, despite previously withdrawing payments automatically.

Infuriatingly, T-Mobile not only denied the promised refund but increased the demanded payment from $202 to $260 and sent the account to collections. Isabella highlights the injustice towards a longtime customer, prompting a complaint to the FCC. If these allegations hold, T-Mobile could face serious repercussions.
