Samsung is gearing up for its Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2025, where the spotlight is set to shine on the highly anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. Fans and tech enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the innovations Samsung will bring to its newest foldable models.
Recent buzz has heightened anticipation with a new database listing revealing intriguing details about the wireless charging capabilities of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The device, identified by the model number SM-D637U, has appeared in the Wireless Power Consortium database. Though Samsung typically doesn’t use this model number pattern, it may be a strategic move to obscure the identity of the device before its official release. This model is believed to align with the SM-F967U planned for the US market.
What’s particularly exciting is that the listing indicates support for the Qi12 wireless charging standard. This could potentially make the Galaxy Z Fold 7 the first foldable phone to achieve Qi12 Ready certification. The certification offers similar capabilities to the Qi12 standard but requires a compatible magnetic case to deliver a wireless charging speed capped at 15W. This advancement could propel the Z Fold 7 to match the performance of flagship smartphones.
In terms of other specifications, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to maintain a battery capacity of 4,400mAh, similar to its predecessor, with a wired charging speed of 25W. As we inch closer to the launch date, more details are expected to surface, setting the stage for one of Samsung’s most intriguing releases yet.
