Bambu Lab Unveils H2D Pro Featuring Ethernet Connectivity, Enhanced Nozzle, and Superior Filtration

In May, the spotlight was on Bambu Lab’s innovative H2D 3D printer, a dual-function marvel that also served as a laser cutter and engraver. Now, the company has unveiled the H2D Pro, a refined successor with subtle but impactful upgrades that promise to elevate the user experience.

The H2D Pro retains its predecessor’s multicolor printing system and includes a single filament dryer in the package. It still supports the laser engraver and cutter module, which can be added separately. The most noticeable change is the color shift to a sleek, dark grey, distinguishing it from the original’s lighter shade.

One of the standout enhancements is the addition of an Ethernet port along with a physical Wi-Fi kill switch, fortifying its security features. With WPA2-enterprise Wi-Fi authentication, the printer is a perfect fit for businesses and institutions that rely on 3D printing technology. Bambu Lab is even offering customized fleet management tools tailored to specific client workflows, forming a bridge between technology and operational efficiency.

Durability upgrades come in the form of a Tungsten Carbide nozzle replacing the original Hardened Steel nozzle. This promises longer life without compromising on the maximum supported temperature. A new high-performance fan boosts the recommended operating temperature by three degrees, adding a touch of efficiency.

Emphasizing safety and environmental considerations, the H2D Pro boasts improved filtration systems for volatile organic compounds and particulates, in addition to the G3 filter, H12 grade HEPA filter, and granulated coconut shell activated carbon filter from the original model.

The Pro package comes complete with the printer, a textured PEI plate, an emergency button, the AMS 2 Pro multi-filament system, the AMD HT enclosure, and the Vision Encoder Plate.

Price-wise, the H2D Pro is set at $3,799 and is available for pre-order on the MatterHackers website, with shipping expected to begin on August 20. Excitingly, the upgraded toolhead will soon be available for the original H2D, offering previous customers a taste of the latest advancements.
