The upcoming Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra has been spotted in a recent Geekbench listing, indicating that it may share several specifications with the ROG Phone 8 Pro. This discovery comes despite the Zenfone 11 Ultra’s departure from the more compact form factor that characterized its predecessors, instead adopting a design that closely resembles the aesthetics seen in Asus’s gaming laptop range and the ROG Phone 8 series, including a prominent camera housing.
The new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor comes in two versions: a standard variant with three ARM core clusters reaching speeds of up to 3.19GHz and a higher-end model featuring a novel 2+2+3+1 core layout with its fastest core running up to 3.3GHz. According to the Geekbench entry, Asus’s upcoming flagship smartphone lineup includes some models equipped with the slightly slower variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 while others boast the more robust configuration.
Specifically, the Asus model designated “ASUS_AI2401_D,” known as the ROG Phone 8 Pro, and another model referred to as “ASUS_AI2401_H,” presumably the Zenfone 11 Ultra, appear to be powered by the faster iteration of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The ROG Phone 8 Pro model on Geekbench shows a massive 24GB of RAM, whereas the Zenfone 11 Ultra variant comes with 16GB of RAM.
Fans of the slimmer Zenfone 10 may find some solace in the fact that, despite the Zenfone 11 Ultra opting for a more robust, gaming-centric design on its release, it seems set to compensate by incorporating the fully-powered version of the latest Snapdragon processor.
As the Zenfone 10 starts to fade from the smartphone scene, those interested in securing this design may want to consider purchasing one soon. For those eager for more power, the Geekbench listing suggests that both the Zenfone 11 Ultra and the ROG Phone 8 Pro’s flagship model will not be lacking in performance.
The arrival of these devices marks a significant moment for fans of Asus smartphones, combining high-end specifications with the novel design elements inspired by the company’s gaming-focused products. As we await the official launch, it’s evident that power users and gaming enthusiasts may have a lot to look forward to with the next iteration of Asus’s smartphone offerings.
