Asus ROG USB-C10G Launches as a Compact 10GbE USB-C Adapter for Faster Networking
Asus has introduced a new USB-C networking accessory in China called the ROG USB-C10G, a compact Type-C to 10 Gigabit Ethernet adapter designed for users who want a faster and more reliable wired connection without upgrading their entire device setup.
The Asus ROG USB-C10G is built for a wide range of devices, making it useful for gamers, creators, home server users, and anyone working with large files across a local network. Asus says the adapter can be connected to laptops, desktops, tablets, mobile devices, gaming handhelds, and NAS setups, giving users an easy way to add high-speed Ethernet to devices that may not include a dedicated 10GbE port.
One of the key highlights is its USB-C female port, which uses a USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 interface. This interface offers a theoretical transfer speed of up to 20Gbps, giving the adapter enough bandwidth to support the 10 Gigabit Ethernet connection without creating an obvious bottleneck. For users moving large video files, backing up data to network storage, streaming from a NAS, or playing online games with a stable wired connection, this could be a practical upgrade.
The adapter comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable, and Asus also includes a Type-C to Type-A adapter on one end. This makes the ROG USB-C10G more flexible for different setups, especially for users who switch between newer USB-C devices and older machines with traditional USB-A ports.
Portability is another major selling point. Asus has given the ROG USB-C10G a smooth, curved design and a lightweight body that reportedly weighs just 38 grams. That makes it small enough to carry in a laptop bag, gaming handheld case, or travel tech pouch. For users who often work between home, office, and mobile setups, the compact size could make it a convenient networking tool.
The ROG USB-C10G may also appeal to Asus router users. According to the company, the adapter can function as an additional WAN port for compatible Asus routers, expanding networking options for supported models. This could be useful for advanced home networks, multi-WAN configurations, or users looking to add more flexibility to their internet setup.
In China, the Asus ROG USB-C10G has launched at CNY 799, which is roughly $118. The USB-C 10GbE adapter appears to be available in some markets already, although availability in the United States has not been confirmed yet.
With more devices dropping full-size Ethernet ports in favor of slimmer designs, accessories like the Asus ROG USB-C10G are becoming increasingly useful. Its combination of 10GbE speed, USB-C compatibility, portable design, and router support makes it a strong option for users who need faster wired networking without adding bulky hardware.
