The Astral GeForce RTX 5090 OC has set a new world record, thanks to nitrogen cooling, hitting an impressive 47,000+ marks.

Splave Achieves 47,375 Marks in 3DMark Port Royal with ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 OC

Renowned overclocker Splave has done it again. Known for setting records in both memory and GPU overclocking, he recently pushed the GeForce RTX 5090 to the max, scoring an astounding 47,375 points—securing the top spot globally. The previous record by OGS, achieved with a GeForce RTX 5090D at 47,196 points, held for only a short time.

Using nitrogen cooling, Splave unleashed the full potential of the ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 OC, a top-tier model designed for enthusiasts seeking peak performance. By implementing various tweaks, he achieved 219.33 FPS in the Port Royal test, marking the highest ever recorded for an RTX 5090. For context, the average score for the RTX 5090 on Port Royal sits just over 36,000 points, making Splave’s score about 31% higher—a substantial leap usually unseen even across generations.

ASUS proudly celebrated Splave’s achievement on social media, highlighting the advanced design of their ASTRAL RT 5090 OC card. Though the GPU hits 2610 MHz out of the box, better cooling and overclocking can push it past 3.0 GHz. Notably, while most RTX 5090 Port Royal submissions reveal real-time clock speeds, Splave’s did not, though screenshots indicated boost clocks at 3007 MHz—lower than the nearly 3.5 GHz reached in other tests.

Splave’s record-breaking feat might face challenges soon, as in the world of overclocking, records can fall in mere days. It’s important to remember that such extreme overclocking is a hobby for enthusiasts and not something everyday gamers should attempt.
