ASUS is preparing a fresh wave of BIOS updates for its AM5 motherboards, and the biggest improvement appears to be aimed at users running CXMT-based DDR5 memory. The upcoming firmware is expected to enhance memory latency and improve tuning behavior on selected DDR5 kits, potentially delivering smoother performance for AMD Ryzen desktop systems.
CXMT DDR5 memory has been gaining attention across the PC hardware community, especially as motherboard makers continue improving compatibility and overclocking support. Several board partners have already added support for these memory modules, and recent testing has shown that CXMT-based kits can reach impressive speeds on mainstream AMD platforms.
Now, ASUS is reportedly taking things a step further with new BIOS builds designed to apply tighter memory timings and low-latency optimization for CXMT DDR5 modules.
Beta BIOS versions are already available for a range of ASUS 600-series and 800-series AM5 motherboards. Supported platforms include models based on X870, B850, X670, and B650 chipsets. Wider rollout is expected through upcoming BIOS releases as ASUS continues refining memory support across its AMD motherboard lineup.
These new BIOS updates are based on AMD AGESA ComboAM5 PI 1.3.0.1d. While earlier BIOS releases from July focused on improving general memory performance and system stability with CXMT chips, this newer firmware appears to go further by targeting low-latency tuning specifically.
ASUS has not shared official benchmark numbers yet, but the changes are expected to involve memory training improvements and adjusted subtimings for CXMT-based DDR5 memory. These types of optimizations can help reduce latency, improve stability at higher memory speeds, and make it easier for users to achieve better performance without extensive manual tuning.
CXMT DDR5 memory has already shown strong overclocking potential on AMD AM5 systems. Previous demonstrations have seen CXMT DDR5 reach 9000 MT/s on an AMD X870E motherboard, while ASUS, MSI, and other motherboard makers have shown that speeds above 8000 MT/s are becoming more achievable on AM5 platforms.
