ASUS is gearing up for strong demand as NVIDIA’s RTX Spark laptops move closer to launch, and the company’s ProArt notebook lineup appears set to be among the first to take advantage of the new platform.
During a recent earnings Q&A, ASUS said the market response to RTX Spark has been much stronger than expected. According to the company, the initial supply it planned has already been fully pre-ordered by channel partners, prompting ASUS to place additional orders. The company also expressed confidence that sales momentum could carry well into next year.
The excitement around RTX Spark comes at a time when AI laptops are becoming one of the biggest growth areas in the PC market. NVIDIA’s new platform is expected to combine powerful graphics performance with large unified memory configurations, making it useful for gaming, content creation, and local AI workloads.
One of the biggest selling points of RTX Spark laptops is support for up to 128GB of LPDDR5X unified memory. That could give these machines a major advantage for users who want to run large language models locally without relying on cloud services. NVIDIA has claimed that this memory setup is capable of handling 120-billion-parameter models with context lengths of up to one million, which could make RTX Spark systems especially appealing to developers, researchers, and AI enthusiasts.
The unified memory approach also helps address a growing limitation in traditional high-end graphics hardware. Even powerful consumer GPUs with large amounts of VRAM can hit memory limits when running demanding AI models or complex creative workloads. RTX Spark is designed to reduce that bottleneck by giving the CPU and GPU access to a much larger shared memory pool.
Creative professionals may also benefit from the added memory capacity. Tasks such as 3D rendering, video editing, animation, visual effects, and high-resolution content creation often require substantial memory resources. With RTX Spark-powered ProArt laptops, ASUS could position its machines as portable workstations for creators who need performance on the go.
Gamers are not being left out either. RTX Spark laptops are expected to feature NVIDIA’s Blackwell-based graphics technology, with NVIDIA claiming performance of up to 100 frames per second at 1440p in supported games. Early demonstrations have shown visually demanding titles running smoothly on RTX Spark hardware, suggesting that these laptops may offer a strong balance between gaming performance and AI computing capability.
NVIDIA has also started rolling out driver support for its latest system-on-chip platform, which should help improve performance, stability, and compatibility ahead of the commercial launch. As more software updates arrive, RTX Spark laptops could become more polished by the time they reach a broader market.
Still, the platform may have one area to watch closely: CPU performance. RTX Spark includes a 20-core processor developed in collaboration with MediaTek, but early benchmark results suggest that both 18-core and 20-core versions trail Apple’s M4 Max in Geekbench 7. These results may not tell the full story, however, since real-world performance can vary depending on thermals, power limits, software optimization, and final retail hardware.
If ASUS’ comments are any indication, demand for RTX Spark laptops could be strong from the start. The combination of AI capabilities, high-end gaming performance, large unified memory, and creator-focused features gives the platform a broad appeal across multiple user groups.
The bigger question is how competitors will respond. With AI PCs becoming a major focus across the industry, companies such as AMD, Apple, and Qualcomm are likely to face increased pressure as NVIDIA pushes deeper into the laptop market. If RTX Spark delivers on its promises, it could become one of the most important laptop platforms of the coming year.
