ASRock has unveiled the refreshed DeskMini X600, a sleek mini-PC that builds on its impressive legacy. This compact powerhouse, featuring a B860 motherboard, can be customized with an internal RGB light strip for added flair. Notably, it’s also available in the DeskMini X600W variant, which includes an Intel Wi-Fi kit.
This new iteration arrives a year after its predecessor, which was celebrated as the first Mini STX mini-PC to utilize AMD Socket AM5. Now priced at under $225 as a barebones unit on Amazon, the DeskMini X600 continues to support Socket AM5, and pairs excellently with the recommended Ryzen 8000G APUs.
In addition to standard ports, both the DeskMini X600 and X600W models introduce advanced USB4 connectivity. Key ports and features include:
– 1x 2.5 Gigabit LAN (Dragon RTL8125BG)
– 1x 3.5 mm microphone input
– 1x 3.5 mm headphone jack
– 1x DisplayPort 1.4 (4K/120 Hz)
– 1x HDMI 2.1 (4K/120 Hz)
– 3x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A
– 1x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C
– 1x USB4
The mini-PC offers versatile expansion options with SATA3 and M.2 2280 slots, plus dual SO-DIMM slots supporting up to 128 GB of DDR5-6400 non-ECC RAM. Housed in a compact 155 x 155 x 80 mm chassis, it impressively packs all these features into a mere 1.92 liters of volume.
It’s important to note that USB4 connectivity is exclusive to Ryzen 8000G APUs, and is not supported natively by the Ryzen 7000G or 9000G series.
For those interested in a compact yet powerful computing solution, the refreshed DeskMini X600 series presents a compelling option.
