Apple Confirms Bigger Batteries for iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max

Apple has quietly confirmed the battery capacities of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max through the EU energy label listed on its online store. While Apple usually avoids publishing exact battery capacity figures in its standard technical specifications, the European labeling requirements reveal how much energy the latest iPhone models can store.

The figures apply to the European versions of the iPhone 18 Pro series, which include support for both a physical nano-SIM and an eSIM. This detail matters because internal space can vary by region. In the United States, the iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to rely on dual eSIM support, leaving out the physical SIM tray. That extra internal space may allow Apple to fit a slightly larger battery, similar to what it has done with previous Pro models.

For Europe, the iPhone 18 Pro is equipped with a 4,056 mAh battery. That is a modest 1.7 percent increase compared with the previous generation. The bigger upgrade comes with the iPhone 18 Pro Max, which now features a 5,391 mAh battery. This represents an 11.7 percent increase, making it one of the most notable battery capacity jumps in Apple’s recent Pro Max lineup.

What makes the improvement more interesting is that Apple has kept the overall dimensions unchanged. Both new Pro models remain the same size as last year’s versions and keep the same 8.75 mm thickness. However, the larger batteries do come with a weight increase. The iPhone 18 Pro now weighs 211 grams, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max reaches 249 grams, making Apple’s largest flagship noticeably heavier in the hand.

Apple claims battery life has improved by around 10 percent on the iPhone 18 Pro and up to 16 percent on the iPhone 18 Pro Max. These gains are slightly higher than the battery capacity increases alone would suggest, indicating that Apple’s efficiency improvements are also playing a major role.

A key reason is likely the new Apple A20 Pro chip. Built using an advanced 2 nm manufacturing process, the A20 Pro is expected to deliver better performance while consuming less power. Combined with larger batteries, this should help the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max last longer during everyday use, including video playback, gaming, photography, and mobile browsing.

For users considering an upgrade, the iPhone 18 Pro Max appears to offer the biggest battery-related advantage this year. Its larger 5,391 mAh battery and improved efficiency could make it the best choice for those who prioritize all-day battery life. The standard iPhone 18 Pro receives a smaller capacity increase, but efficiency gains from the new chip should still deliver a meaningful improvement over the previous model.

Overall, Apple’s latest Pro iPhones focus on better endurance without changing the familiar design. The iPhone 18 Pro Max, in particular, stands out with a much larger battery, longer runtime, and the same slim profile, though buyers will have to accept the added weight that comes with it.
