AMD has released AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.1.1, a new driver update that does more than the usual performance tweaks and compatibility fixes. This optional update introduces AMD’s new AI Bundle, designed to make running AI tools locally on your PC much easier, while also adding support for the latest Zen 5-based mobile processors and newly supported games.
The headline feature in Adrenalin Edition 26.1.1 is the optional AI Bundle. AMD is targeting a common pain point: setting up an AI workflow on Windows often requires downloading multiple apps, managing dependencies, and spending time troubleshooting. With the AI Bundle, AMD aims to streamline that whole process by offering a ready-to-install suite of popular AI tools in one place.
The included toolset covers a wide range of AI use cases. It features PyTorch on Windows, along with apps and frameworks such as ComfyUI, Ollama, LM Studio, and Amuse. Together, these tools can help users run large language models locally for text generation, build prototypes, experiment with automation, and even explore model development and training workflows—without relying entirely on cloud services.
Because it packages several AI tools and their requirements, the install size is significant. The AI Bundle takes roughly 34 GB of disk space. The good news is that it’s optional: users who only want the standard AMD driver experience can simply leave the AI Bundle unchecked during installation.
In terms of compatibility, AMD positions the AI Bundle as a fit for creators, developers, and students who want to learn or experiment with AI workloads on their own hardware. AMD says the tool suite is compatible with newer Radeon GPUs such as the Radeon RX 9000 series, as well as the Radeon RX 7700 series. It can also be used on Ryzen AI processors including the Ryzen AI 300, Ryzen AI Max, and the new Ryzen AI 400 series, which include dedicated NPUs intended to accelerate AI tasks.
Beyond AI, the 26.1.1 driver also expands hardware and game support. It adds support for the Ryzen AI 400 series processors, a Zen 5-based refresh that was introduced at CES. On the gaming side, the update includes support for the upcoming game Starsland Island, along with support for the From the Ashes Edition of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
Overall, AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.1.1 is positioned as both a forward-looking AI-focused update and a practical compatibility release. If you’re interested in local AI tools on AMD hardware, the optional AI Bundle could save a lot of setup time—while everyone else can still install the driver normally and benefit from the expanded platform and game support.
