AMD has moved quickly to address a Windows 10 compatibility problem affecting some Radeon graphics card users after reports surfaced following the release of Adrenalin Edition 26.6.2.
The issue appeared soon after the driver rollout, with users reporting errors on Windows 10 systems. One of the most visible signs was a yellow warning icon, often called a “yellow bang,” appearing in Device Manager. The problem was mainly reported by owners of Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards, though a smaller number of RX 9000 series users also appeared to be affected.
Adrenalin Edition 26.6.2 was an important release for many AMD GPU owners because it introduced FSR 4.1 support for RDNA 3-based Radeon RX 7000 series cards. However, the Windows 10 compatibility issue made the update frustrating for some users who wanted to access the latest upscaling improvements without running into driver-related errors.
AMD initially advised affected users to roll back to the previous Adrenalin 26.6.1 driver while its engineering team investigated the problem. The hotfix targets Windows 10 64-bit systems running version 21H2 or later. Users who experienced the Device Manager yellow warning after installing Adrenalin 26.6.2 should now be able to install the new 26.6.3 Hotfix Preview Driver to resolve the issue.
AMD is also recommending that users still running the problematic 26.6.2 driver remove it properly before moving to the new hotfix. The company suggests using the AMD Cleanup Utility to downgrade or clean out the affected driver installation before installing the updated package.
For Radeon RX 7000 series owners on Windows 10, this hotfix should restore normal driver operation while keeping access to the latest FSR 4.1 features. The quick release also shows AMD responding rapidly to user feedback after compatibility problems were reported across affected systems.
