AMD Adrenalin Edition 26.8.1 Driver Adds Radeon RX 9050 4 GB Support and Game Optimizations
AMD has rolled out its latest graphics driver update, Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.8.1, bringing expanded GPU support, new game-ready optimizations, and several important bug fixes for Radeon users.
The biggest addition in this release is official support for the AMD Radeon RX 9050 4 GB graphics card. The newly launched GPU is now properly recognized by the driver, giving users access to the latest performance updates, compatibility improvements, and Radeon software features.
The Radeon RX 9050 recently arrived in two versions: a 4 GB model and an 8 GB model. AMD had already added support for the 8 GB variant with the previous Adrenalin Edition 26.7.1 driver. With the release of version 26.8.1, both RX 9050 models are now fully supported.
The RX 9050 sits as the entry-level discrete GPU in AMD’s RDNA 4 lineup. It features 16 Compute Units and comes with either 4 GB or 8 GB of GDDR6 memory. Depending on the version, the card uses a 64-bit or 128-bit memory bus. AMD is positioning the GPU as a budget-friendly option for 1080p gaming, with the company claiming it can deliver over 60 FPS in modern games when using Medium graphics settings.
Alongside new hardware support, AMD Adrenalin Edition 26.8.1 also prepares Radeon GPUs for several upcoming game releases. The driver adds support for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and STAR WARS Zero Company, helping ensure smoother compatibility when these titles become available.
The update also includes support for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Open Beta Early Access. The beta period is scheduled to run from August 21 through August 25, and Radeon users planning to jump in early may benefit from installing the latest driver before playing.
AMD has also addressed a number of issues affecting Radeon RX 7000 and RX 9000 series graphics cards. The new driver includes fixes for problems reported in games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, Marvel Rivals, and Subnautica 2. These improvements should help deliver a more stable gaming experience across supported systems.
For PC gamers using AMD Radeon graphics cards, especially those with an RX 9050 4 GB or RX 9050 8 GB, the Adrenalin Edition 26.8.1 driver is an important update. It improves compatibility with the latest hardware, prepares systems for upcoming games, and resolves several known issues in popular titles.
