Amazfit T-Rex 3 Update Adds Better Maps, Smoother Navigation, and Helio Strap Controls
Zepp Health has started rolling out a new software update for the Amazfit T-Rex 3, bringing a mix of useful upgrades, improved navigation tools, and tighter support for Amazfit’s screenless fitness trackers. The latest firmware version, 6.3.13.5, focuses on making outdoor workouts easier to manage while improving the overall smartwatch experience.
One of the most practical additions is a new reminder on the workout start screen. Before beginning an activity, the Amazfit T-Rex 3 can now prompt users to connect external accessories, such as a chest-strap heart rate monitor. This small but helpful change should reduce the chances of starting a run, ride, or hike without pairing key fitness sensors first.
Mapping and navigation are also getting important refinements. The update improves map rendering, making contour lines clearer and easier to read. This is especially useful for hikers, trail runners, and outdoor athletes who rely on elevation details when planning or following routes. Footpaths are now more distinct from roads, helping users better understand their surroundings at a glance.
Zepp Health has also added sidewalk information for selected major roads. This feature appears only at higher zoom levels, but it can be valuable for users navigating through urban areas where pedestrian routes matter. Offline map downloads have been improved as well, allowing larger geographic areas to be selected at once. That should make it more convenient to prepare for trips, hikes, or workouts in places with limited mobile signal.
The update also brings smoother navigation performance overall, which should make route guidance feel more reliable during outdoor activities. For a rugged smartwatch like the Amazfit T-Rex 3, these mapping improvements strengthen its appeal as a companion for hiking, cycling, running, and adventure travel.
Another key part of the update is expanded compatibility with the Amazfit Helio Strap and Helio Strap Pro. These screenless wearables can now be configured directly from the Amazfit T-Rex 3, reducing the need to use a smartphone for basic settings. Users can enable or disable features such as real-time heart rate broadcasting straight from the watch.
Battery alerts for the Helio Strap have also been added to the smartwatch. If the tracker’s battery is running low, users can receive a notification on the T-Rex 3, making it easier to avoid interruptions during training sessions.
Overall, software version 6.3.13.5 makes the Amazfit T-Rex 3 more capable and convenient, particularly for users who depend on maps, external sensors, and connected fitness accessories. With clearer offline maps, better navigation usability, and improved Helio Strap controls, this update gives outdoor and fitness-focused users more reasons to keep the rugged smartwatch on their wrist.
