Amazfit’s Latest Smartwatch Update Delivers a Smoother, Smarter Experience

Amazfit Balance 2 XT owners are starting to see a fresh software update roll out, aimed at polishing day-to-day usability rather than adding a long list of brand-new tools. The new release, firmware version 2.16.2.1, arrives not long after the bigger 2.16.0.1 update that landed in February 2026 and introduced additions like Rucking and Mountain Hiking workout modes, plus a handy screenshot feature for the smartwatch.

This latest Amazfit Balance 2 XT firmware is a smaller, quality-focused upgrade. According to user reports, it improves how weather information is shown on the watch, making forecasts and conditions easier to read at a glance. Zepp Health, the company behind Amazfit, has also refined the way sunrise and sunset times behave during time changes, which should help prevent confusing shifts when daylight saving adjustments kick in. The update also includes fixes for other known issues, with the goal of improving overall system stability—though the company hasn’t shared a detailed changelog of every bug that was addressed.

As with many Amazfit smartwatch updates, the firmware 2.16.2.1 rollout appears to be happening gradually and may depend on your country or region. Availability is expected to start in the US, Canada, and China first, followed by a wider release in Europe afterward. This update also follows closely behind a recent software release for the related Amazfit Balance 2 smartwatch, which added two new running-focused features—showing that Zepp Health continues to actively support its current wearables with ongoing improvements.
