If you’re using an Amazfit wearable and wondering how long it will keep getting new features, Zepp Health has just offered a clearer timeline. The company has updated its end-of-life (EOL) list, confirming that three popular Amazfit devices released in 2024 are currently scheduled to receive their final round of typical software updates in 2026.
The devices listed are the Amazfit T-Rex 3 and Amazfit Bip 5 Unity smartwatches, along with the Amazfit Helio Ring. Based on Zepp Health’s security updates information, the Amazfit Bip 5 Unity and the Helio Ring are expected to stop receiving updates after April 2026. The rugged-focused Amazfit T-Rex 3 is slated to get its last batch of features and improvements in September 2026, although the company notes this could happen earlier depending on development and support plans.
This update schedule matches Zepp Health’s broader software support policy. For Amazfit devices launched before June 2025, the standard update window is two years. For devices released after that point, Zepp says the expected software support period increases to three years, giving newer models a longer runway for feature upgrades and improvements.
There are also a few notable exceptions to the usual update cycle. For example, the Amazfit Active 2 NFC (Round) is expected to receive updates for about 2.5 years, while the Amazfit Up Open-Ear Earbuds are listed for four years of updates—suggesting that update timelines can vary based on product category, hardware needs, and long-term support strategy.
Even if a wearable reaches its end-of-life stage, it doesn’t necessarily mean support disappears overnight. Zepp Health says that if a major security issue is discovered, the company may still release an update to address it—even for products that have already reached EOL. For buyers, that’s an important detail, especially when choosing a smartwatch or fitness ring with long-term everyday use in mind.
