Amazfit Supercharges Its Smartwatches With a Wave of Feature-Packed Updates

Amazfit is rolling out a pair of fresh software updates for its newly released Cheetah 2 Pro smartwatch, bringing new training tools aimed squarely at runners—especially anyone preparing for long-distance events like marathons.

The first update, firmware version 3.8.0.5, is the larger of the two and is expected to be installed by many users during initial setup. This release introduces a new Hybrid Training mode designed to give marathon runners more flexibility in how they structure workouts, with the goal of improving performance while reducing injury risk.

It also adds lactate threshold metrics, a key feature for athletes who want a clearer picture of endurance intensity and training zones. Alongside that, Zepp Health (the company behind the Amazfit brand) has added official marathon training plans to the Cheetah 2 Pro, making it easier to follow a structured program directly from the watch.

To help keep training organized, the update includes a Training Calendar that displays upcoming scheduled workouts. There’s also a new Equipment Management feature, which can help users keep track of their gear as they train.

Two additional running-focused metrics arrive with version 3.8.0.5 as well: Equivalent Pace and Race Time Prediction. These are designed to give runners more context around their performance and offer a better sense of where current fitness levels could place them on race day.

A second update, firmware version 3.8.0.7, is now rolling out as well. This is described as a smaller release focused on refinement, including optimization for mid-workout voice broadcast settings. It also includes general bug fixes and system stability improvements, though specific changes aren’t detailed.

Both updates can be installed through the Zepp smartphone app. As with many smartwatch firmware releases, the rollout is happening in phases, so some Cheetah 2 Pro owners may see the updates immediately while others may need to wait a few more days.
