Acer Revo Box AI Mini PC With AMD Ryzen AI 9 465 Arrives With USB4, eGPU Support, and Dual 2.5GbE
Acer’s refreshed Revo Box AI mini PC lineup is expanding with a new AMD-powered model, giving buyers another compact desktop option with strong everyday performance, AI-focused hardware, and flexible connectivity. After the Intel Lunar Lake version reached stores earlier, the AMD configuration is now available, and it looks like a compelling choice for users who want a small but capable PC for productivity, networking, and light creative workloads.
At the center of this model is the AMD Ryzen AI 9 465, part of AMD’s newer Gorgon Point family. It sits in the upper-mid-range segment and is designed to handle modern multitasking, office work, browsing, AI-assisted features, and general desktop use with ease. Paired with it is the Radeon 880M integrated GPU, based on AMD’s RDNA 3.5 graphics architecture.
The Radeon 880M is the successor to the popular Radeon 780M, offering improved efficiency and graphics capability for a mini PC. It should be suitable for casual gaming, media playback, light photo editing, and moderate GPU workloads. However, users expecting high-end gaming or heavy 3D rendering will still want more graphics power.
That is where the USB4 port becomes important. The AMD Revo Box AI supports external GPU setups, allowing owners to connect an eGPU for a major graphics boost. This makes the mini PC more versatile, especially for users who want a compact system today but may need stronger GPU performance later.
There is one drawback: the USB4 connection is the only USB-C port on the system. For users with several USB-C accessories, that may be limiting. Still, the rest of the port selection is solid for a device of this size.
The Acer Revo Box AI AMD model includes:
4 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports
1 USB4 port
1 HDMI 2.1 port
1 DisplayPort
2 2.5GbE Ethernet ports
1 3.5mm audio jack
The dual 2.5GbE ports are one of the biggest strengths of this mini PC. They make it an appealing option for home labs, small office networking, firewall use, virtualization, and other network-focused setups. Users looking for a compact machine that can handle fast wired networking may find this configuration especially useful.
For media server builds, however, the Intel-powered version may still be the stronger pick, mainly because its Arc 140V integrated graphics includes more advanced media engine capabilities. That could make a difference for users focused on video transcoding and streaming workloads.
Beyond performance and ports, the AMD-powered Acer Revo Box AI also includes WiFi 6E, support for up to three displays, a built-in fingerprint reader, and a compact design that can fit easily on a desk, in an entertainment center, or in a small workspace.
The model equipped with the Ryzen AI 9 465, 16GB of LPDDR5 memory, and a 512GB SSD is currently listed at Best Buy for $739.99, down from its $879.99 retail price. Acer also offers a Ryzen AI 7 445 version, which carries a retail price of $799.99.
Overall, the AMD Acer Revo Box AI looks like a well-rounded mini PC for buyers who want a small desktop with modern AMD hardware, fast networking, eGPU expansion, and enough performance for daily computing. While it is not aimed at high-end gamers or heavy workstation users out of the box, its USB4 support gives it room to grow, making it a flexible option in the compact PC market.
