Acer has once again pushed the envelope in the world of gaming handhelds with the introduction of its latest advancements, the Nitro Blaze 11 and Nitro Blaze 8. Building on the success of the Acer Nitro Blaze 7, these new devices offer larger screen sizes and improved performance without sacrificing the power of the AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor coupled with Radeon 780M integrated graphics.
The Nitro Blaze series continues to cater to the needs of gamers demanding rapid gameplay and seamless responsiveness. These handhelds are powered by AMD’s Ryzen 8040 Series processors with impressive AI capabilities, paired with up to 2 TB of storage and 16 GB of LPDDR5x memory to ensure smooth operation of even the most demanding games.
Acer has made sure that the visuals are nothing short of spectacular. Whether you’re opting for the 8.8-inch Nitro Blaze 8 or the spacious 10.95-inch Nitro Blaze 11, gamers can enjoy WQXGA touch displays with refresh rates soaring up to 144 Hz. This, combined with the powerful Radeon Super Resolution and AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution technologies, promises an immersive visual experience.
Users can look forward to the innovative Acer Game Space app on these Windows 11-powered devices, which brings a myriad of gaming platforms and applications to the palm of your hand. The devices also boast a lightweight, foldable design for convenience, paired with a Nitro Mobile Gaming Controller that features adjustable grips for ease of use and 18W fast charging.
The Nitro Blaze 11 stakes its claim as the largest Windows-powered gaming handheld from Acer. It features an 11-inch display offering a stunning 2560 x 1600 resolution alongside a 120 Hz refresh rate. With a brightness capability of up to 500 nits and a 98% DCI-P3 color gamut, visuals are nothing less than vibrant and lifelike.
For those who prefer a smaller device, the Nitro Blaze 8 doesn’t disappoint. Despite its modest 8.8-inch screen, it matches the impressive resolution of its larger counterpart and even boosts the refresh rate to an impressive 144 Hz. This model is lighter and designed with a non-detachable controller, in contrast to the detachable controllers of the Nitro Blaze 11, which can be used on a desktop for a versatile gaming experience.
Gamers can expect a satisfying performance with the Zen 4-powered hardware and Radeon 780M graphics. Though, the increased resolution may lead to slightly lower performance compared to the Nitro Blaze 7. Both handhelds boast 16 GB LPDDR5X SDRAM and a robust storage solution of up to 2 TB via M.2 PCI-E Gen 4 SSDs.
Enhancements don’t stop at visuals and storage. These models come equipped with extra macro buttons and more potent dual 2W speakers for enriched audio quality. The battery life has also seen an upgrade to 55W, alongside improved connectivity offerings that now include more USB options, with a USB 3.2 Type C port and a USB 3.2 Type-A port.
In terms of dimensions, the Nitro Blaze 8 offers a slightly larger build compared to its predecessor, the Blaze 7, while remaining reasonably portable. Meanwhile, the Blaze 11, with its larger screen, takes pride in boasting a more robust form.
The Nitro Blaze 8 and Nitro Blaze 11 are priced starting at $899 and $1099 respectively for North America, with European counterparts starting at €999 and €1199, set to be available in the second quarter of the year across NA and EMEA regions.
