82% of Players Recommend This Zelda-Inspired Action RPG — Now Under $3 on Steam

Ocean’s Heart Drops to $2.99 on Steam, Giving Zelda-Inspired RPG Fans a Big Reason to Dive In

If you enjoy classic adventure games built around exploration, secrets, dungeons, and fast-paced combat, Ocean’s Heart is worth a closer look while it is back at a major discount on Steam. The action RPG is currently 80% off, bringing its price down to $2.99 from its usual $14.99.

Released on January 21, 2021, by Nordcurrent Labs and developed by Max Mraz, Ocean’s Heart puts players in the role of Tilia, a young woman searching for her missing father. Her journey leads her across the remains of a flooded kingdom filled with dangerous creatures, forgotten ruins, hidden stories, and plenty of treasure to uncover.

The game is clearly inspired by classic The Legend of Zelda adventures, especially in the way it blends open-ended exploration with combat, puzzle-solving, and side quests. Players travel through forests, saltwater marshes, mountain regions, ancient ruins, and coastal settlements while following clues and taking on challenges that gradually reveal more about the world.

Combat is a major part of Ocean’s Heart. Tilia can use different weapons, improve her gear with collected materials, and rely on spells to deal with certain enemies more effectively. Boss fights and enemy encounters help keep the adventure moving, while quests and environmental secrets give players reasons to explore every corner of the map.

Ocean’s Heart has received a generally positive response from players. On Steam, it has around 1,520 user reviews, with 82% of them rated positive. Critics have also responded fairly well, with a Metascore of 79, though user reactions elsewhere have been more mixed, with some players giving it a 6.3 user score.

Much of the praise goes to the game’s charming world, old-school adventure feel, varied mechanics, puzzles, and story. Fans of retro action RPGs may especially appreciate its colorful pixel-art style and the sense of discovery that comes from wandering through its mysterious locations.

That said, Ocean’s Heart is not without flaws. Some players have criticized the controls, while others have pointed out issues with hitboxes during combat. A few also feel the game can become repetitive later in the adventure. Even so, for players looking for a budget-friendly Zelda-inspired indie RPG, the current price makes those drawbacks easier to overlook.

At $2.99, Ocean’s Heart is currently matching its lowest Steam price. The discount is listed to end on November 15, 2026, after which the game is expected to return to $14.99. As always, sale prices can change, so it is best to check the Steam store before purchasing.
