Xiaomi’s recent announcement of the XRING 01 chipset featured impressive AnTuTu benchmark scores, boasting a figure of 3,004,137. However, these claims were swiftly put to the test by an independent reviewer, revealing a score that couldn’t quite match the hype. The XRING 01 scored 2,613,424, which is about 13 percent lower than initially advertised.
The discrepancy might be attributed to environmental factors. Unlike controlled test environments, real-world usage includes varying ambient temperatures that can affect the performance of key components like Xiaomi’s in-house chip. Despite being built on the same cutting-edge TSMC 3nm N3E process, the XRING 01 lagged behind both the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Dimensity 9400 in the AnTuTu benchmark.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite achieved a score of 2,954,535, benefiting from its custom Oryon cores. On the other hand, MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400—similarly configured to the XRING 01 but without low-power cores—also outpaced Xiaomi’s offering.
While Xiaomi showcased these scores during the XRING 01’s launch, the devices housing the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Dimensity 9400 weren’t specified. This lack of detail makes it difficult to make direct comparisons, as various factors like cooling solutions can significantly influence results. Currently, the XRING 01 powers devices like the Xiaomi 15S Pro and Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra. As more performance reviews and teardown analyses emerge, a clearer picture of the XRING 01’s true capabilities will likely unfold.
