Xiaomi Unveils Upgraded Redmi Pad Pro Tablet

Xiaomi has quietly rolled out a refresh for the Redmi Pad Pro, just under six months since its original debut. This updated version promises even more versatility while retaining its core strengths, such as a 120 Hz IPS display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, and a significant battery capacity.

The Redmi Pad Pro first entered the market in April and shares its foundational technology with the POCO Pad. It boasts a 12.1-inch IPS display, providing a sharp resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate, and a bright 600 nits peak brightness. Powering this display is the capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, coupled with a robust 10,000 mAh battery that ensures extended usage.

Originally, the Redmi Pad Pro was offered in three different memory configurations: storage options of either 128 GB or 256 GB, paired with either 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. Now, Xiaomi has introduced a new option, allowing the tablet to be configured with an impressive 12 GB of RAM alongside 256 GB of storage. This upgrade brings the Redmi Pad Pro to the same memory standards as the Pad 6 Pro.

Although the Redmi Pad Pro is available worldwide, this new 12 GB variant is initially exclusive to China. Consumers in China can choose from three elegant color options: Dark Grey, Light Bay Blue, and Smoke Green. The new variant is priced at CNY 1,999 (approximately $282), just CNY 200 ($28) more than the 8 GB RAM version.

Currently, there is no confirmation from Xiaomi regarding a global release for the 12 GB RAM variant of the Redmi Pad Pro. However, the expanded memory option and its attractive pricing in China suggest that it could become popular in other markets if released globally. Keep an eye out for updates as Xiaomi continues to enhance its tablet lineup with more powerful and versatile options.
