Xiaomi has officially introduced the Redmi Turbo 5 Max, a new performance-focused smartphone built to stand out in the crowded mid-range space. With a massive 9,000 mAh battery, this device is clearly aimed at users who want long-lasting endurance for gaming, streaming, and everyday productivity without constantly reaching for a charger.
On the front, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max features a large 6.83-inch flat AMOLED display designed for both smooth visuals and comfortable viewing. The panel delivers a 2,772 x 1,280 resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate, making scrolling, animations, and gameplay feel noticeably more fluid. Xiaomi also includes 3,840 Hz PWM dimming along with DC dimming support, a combination that can help reduce flicker and improve comfort during extended use, especially at lower brightness levels.
Camera hardware includes a 50 MP main sensor (Light Hunted 600), paired with an 8 MP ultra-wide camera for capturing wider scenes. For selfies and video calls, there’s a 20 MP front-facing camera, offering a solid setup for social media and daily photography needs.
Pricing is another area where the phone looks competitive. The Redmi Turbo 5 Max starts at CNY 2,199 (around $317) for the 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage version. Buyers who want more memory or storage can scale up to configurations with as much as 16 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage, topping out at CNY 2,799 (around $403).
While Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed global release plans yet, early expectations suggest the Redmi Turbo 5 Max could arrive internationally later this year under the Poco lineup, potentially as the Poco X8 Pro Max. If that happens, it would likely slot above the Poco X7 Pro and offer a major jump in overall capability, especially for users who prioritize power and battery life.
