Xiaomi Unveils Budget-Friendly 8K Wireless Gaming Mouse Powered by a Flagship PixArt Sensor

Xiaomi is stepping up its gaming gear lineup with the new Gaming Mouse 2, a wireless flagship-style mouse built for speed, accuracy, and lightweight comfort—without the premium price tag many competitive mice carry.

At the heart of the Xiaomi Gaming Mouse 2 is the PixArt PAW3955XM sensor, designed for high-performance tracking. Xiaomi lists a maximum tracking speed of 750 IPS along with 60G acceleration, aiming to keep cursor control stable even during fast swipes, sudden flick shots, and rapid direction changes in competitive games.

Performance isn’t just about the sensor, though. Xiaomi pairs it with a Telink TL3228 microcontroller that uses a dual-core RISC-V CPU, and the company emphasizes low-latency operation. One of the biggest highlights is 8,000Hz polling rate support in both 2.4GHz wireless mode and wired mode, which can help reduce input delay for players who want the most responsive feel possible.

For users who prefer going fully dongle-free, the mouse also includes Bluetooth 6.1. Xiaomi says this mode is designed to keep power consumption low while still maintaining a stable connection, making it a practical option for everyday use when you’re not gaming.

Click feel and durability get attention here as well. Xiaomi uses TTC esports-grade micro switches for the left and right buttons, enhanced with optical sensors to improve input precision and responsiveness. The scroll wheel uses a TTC encoder rated for a 2-million-cycle lifespan, and it’s housed in a dustproof enclosure to help maintain consistent scrolling over time.

Battery life is another major selling point. The Gaming Mouse 2 runs on a 530mAh battery, and Xiaomi claims up to 160 hours of use when set to a 1,000Hz polling rate in 2.4GHz mode—an appealing figure for players who don’t want to charge frequently.

In terms of design, Xiaomi positions the mouse as an esports-inspired shape backed by player data. It weighs around 58 grams and features a 1:1 front-to-back weight balance, aiming to feel steady and controlled in hand. Xiaomi also notes that the shape is intended to suit different grip styles for better long-session comfort.

Pricing is where this mouse could attract the most attention. Xiaomi has listed the Gaming Mouse 2 on its Youpin crowdfunding platform with an initial price of CNY 349 (about $31). It’s available in black and white, and while it’s currently focused on the Chinese market, there’s a chance it could see a wider international release after the full launch.
