Xiaomi Unveils a New Wireless Gaming Mouse Powered by a Flagship PixArt Sensor

Xiaomi has officially teased its next wireless gaming peripheral, the Xiaomi Gaming Mouse 2, and the biggest headline is what’s inside: the flagship PixArt PAW3955XM sensor. While Xiaomi is still keeping several key details under wraps, the early specs point toward a mouse built for fast, accurate control in competitive games where precision tracking can make the difference between a win and a missed shot.

The PixArt PAW3955XM is positioned as a high-end sensor, and Xiaomi’s choice here signals that the Gaming Mouse 2 is targeting the same performance-focused space as other modern flagship wireless gaming mice. Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed which microcontroller (MCU) the mouse uses, and it also hasn’t revealed the polling rate yet. Still, given the class of sensor being used, higher-end wireless performance features are very much on the table.

Even with the limited announcement, Xiaomi did share several sensor and tuning details that competitive players tend to care about. The Gaming Mouse 2 is said to ship with 1% DPI factory calibration, suggesting Xiaomi is emphasizing out-of-the-box consistency. The mouse will support up to 4,000 DPI, and Xiaomi claims a tracking speed of 750 IPS. The sensor is also rated for over 20,000 FPS tracking samples per second, which helps maintain accurate readouts during rapid movement. On top of that, it offers 60G acceleration, designed to keep tracking stable during quick flicks and sudden direction changes—exactly the type of input common in fast-paced shooters and esports-style play.

Xiaomi has also released teaser imagery, offering a small look at the Gaming Mouse 2’s design. From what’s visible so far, the shape appears familiar and in line with the current lightweight, competition-inspired wireless mouse trend. The company hasn’t confirmed a release date yet, but the fact that multiple teasers are already out suggests the full reveal could be happening soon.

For now, the Xiaomi Gaming Mouse 2 is shaping up to be a serious wireless gaming mouse based on sensor choice alone, and the remaining unanswered questions—especially polling rate, weight, battery life, and click hardware—are likely what gamers will be watching for next as Xiaomi moves closer to launch.
