Xiaomi is expanding its Redmi gaming monitor lineup again, this time with a new 24.5-inch model designed to hit a sweet spot for budget gamers. Called the Redmi G25, it arrives as a practical in-between option for anyone who wants fast refresh rates and solid color performance without paying premium monitor prices.
The Redmi G25 keeps gaming front and center with a 200 Hz refresh rate, a spec that helps motion look smoother in fast-paced shooters, competitive titles, and esports games. It also sticks with a classic Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 in a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is still one of the most popular choices for high-refresh gaming because it’s easier for mid-range GPUs to push high frame rates consistently.
Xiaomi is using an IPS panel, which typically brings better viewing angles and more accurate color than many entry-level alternatives. On paper, the Redmi G25 offers a 1 ms GtG response time and wide 178-degree viewing angles. It’s also rated for up to 400 nits of peak brightness, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and 95% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage—numbers that suggest it should work well not only for gaming, but also for general media consumption and everyday productivity.
Where the budget positioning becomes most obvious is connectivity. The Redmi G25 keeps things minimal with just a DisplayPort 1.4, an HDMI 2.0 port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. For many gamers, that’s enough for a PC plus one additional device, but anyone juggling multiple consoles, laptops, or streaming gear may want more inputs.
Price is the headline feature. Xiaomi is listing the Redmi G25 in China for CNY 609, which converts to roughly $88. There’s no confirmed international release yet, but Xiaomi has released Redmi-branded gaming monitors in multiple markets before, so a wider rollout remains possible.
For shoppers looking for a cheap high-refresh IPS gaming monitor, the Redmi G25 is positioned to be a strong value: 200 Hz, 1080p, fast response claims, and broad color coverage—paired with a no-frills port selection to keep costs low.
