Xiaomi is set to launch its latest Wi-Fi Range Extender AX1500 globally, designed to improve network coverage in larger homes. This new device supports Wi-Fi 6, also known as IEEE 802.11ax, which offers impressive data rates up to 1,500 Mbit/s over 2.4 and 5 GHz frequency bands via a 2×2 antenna configuration. However, it does not support the 6 GHz band.
The AX1500 features two upward-extending antennas that enhance its signal transmission capabilities. It not only expands Wi-Fi coverage but also integrates into mesh networks and operates in access point mode. For security, it supports multiple encryption protocols, including WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, and WPA3-SAE.
With dimensions of 84 x 82 x 168 mm, the range extender includes a Gigabit Ethernet port at the bottom for wired connections. The front of the unit has two status LEDs and a button to connect to your home network easily.
While pricing and availability details are yet to be disclosed, the product’s appearance on Xiaomi’s global website hints at an imminent international release. This makes it an exciting option for those looking to boost their home network capabilities seamlessly.
