Xiaomi is preparing to roll out its new TV Stick HD (2nd Gen) to markets worldwide. The compact streaming dongle has already shown up on the company’s global website, signaling that an international launch is on the way—arriving roughly eight months after Xiaomi introduced the TV Stick 4K (2nd Gen).
Built for anyone who wants smarter streaming without replacing their TV, the Xiaomi TV Stick HD (2nd Gen) plugs into an HDMI port and instantly adds the Google TV experience to your screen. That means easy access to a broad library of streaming and entertainment apps, including popular services like Netflix, YouTube, and Apple TV. It also includes Google Assistant, letting you search for shows, open apps, control playback, and manage compatible smart home features using voice commands. If you prefer streaming content directly from your phone or tablet, Google Cast support enables wireless screen sharing to the TV.
While this is a Full HD streaming stick designed for 1080p at up to 60Hz, Xiaomi is still targeting a premium viewing and listening experience. The device supports HDR10+ for improved contrast and color on compatible TVs, and it also includes Dolby Audio and DTS:X support for more immersive sound when paired with suitable audio equipment.
For connectivity, the TV Stick HD (2nd Gen) relies on Wi-Fi and is equipped with dual-band support (2.4GHz and 5GHz) to help ensure smoother streaming in a wider range of home network setups. It also includes Bluetooth 5.0, which can be useful for pairing accessories such as headphones, speakers, or other compatible devices.
Xiaomi is also bundling a dedicated remote, designed to make streaming faster and simpler. In addition to a voice assistant button, the remote includes shortcut keys for Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube—so you can jump straight into your favorite platforms without digging through menus.
Under the hood, Xiaomi says the device uses a quad-core Cortex-A55 processor paired with a Mali G31 MP2 GPU. The company claims up to 38% better CPU performance compared to the older Mi TV Stick, which should translate into snappier navigation, quicker app launches, and smoother everyday use. Hardware improvements like these are especially important for keeping the Google TV interface responsive as streaming apps continue to grow more demanding.
Design-wise, the TV Stick keeps the portable dongle style that makes devices like this so convenient. It features a rounded body and measures 107.4 x 30 x 14 mm, making it easy to tuck behind a TV or pack for travel.
Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed the exact global release date or official pricing yet. However, for a rough idea of positioning, the more powerful Xiaomi TV Stick 4K (2nd Gen) launched in parts of Europe with a recommended retail price of €59.99.
