Xiaomi Teases a Special Edition Smartphone Set to Debut Soon

Xiaomi is preparing to expand the Redmi Note 15 lineup with a new Special Edition smartphone, and the company has already started teasing what’s coming next. While the Redmi Note 15 series has been available for some time—first launching in China last August before rolling out to other markets about four months later—this upcoming release is designed to freshen up interest in one of Xiaomi’s most affordable 5G phones.

During the global launch of the Redmi Note 15 family, Xiaomi also introduced dedicated 4G variants, including the Redmi Note 15 4G and the Redmi Note 15 Pro 4G. Now, attention is shifting back to 5G again, as Xiaomi hints that a Special Edition version of the Redmi Note 15 5G is almost here.

Based on early teaser details, the Redmi Note 15 5G Special Edition looks like it will focus on a new visual style rather than major hardware upgrades. The design appears to be a cosmetic refresh of the existing Redmi Note 15 5G, featuring a bold red finish that strongly resembles a “Cherry Red” New Year-themed version already available in China. In other words, buyers should expect the same core Redmi Note 15 5G experience, packaged in a more striking, limited-style colorway.

At the moment, Xiaomi is positioning this Special Edition model as a China-exclusive release. The teaser language also suggests the new color could be marketed under a name like “Crimson Reserve,” although Xiaomi hasn’t fully confirmed the final branding yet.

The official announcement is scheduled for April 2, when Xiaomi is expected to reveal the full details of the Redmi Note 15 5G Special Edition, including availability and any regional release plans. For fans of the Redmi Note series who want a more distinctive look without stepping up to a more expensive model, this Special Edition could be an appealing option—especially if it remains a limited China-only variant.
