Xiaomi has introduced a new budget-friendly smart lighting option in China with the launch of the Mijia LED Bulb Bluetooth Mesh Edition. Designed for users building an affordable smart home setup, the new bulb combines simple styling, app-based controls, and Bluetooth Mesh connectivity at a very low price.
The Xiaomi Mijia LED Bulb Bluetooth Mesh Edition features a clean, minimalist design that fits easily into most home interiors. It uses a standard E27 lamp base, making it compatible with many common light fixtures. Xiaomi has also used high-refractive-index PC material for the light-emitting surface, which is intended to help deliver softer and more even illumination.
In terms of brightness, the new Mijia smart LED bulb can reach up to 500 lumens. That should be suitable for smaller to medium-sized spaces such as bedrooms, study areas, hallways, or bedside lamps. Xiaomi has not provided a specific room size recommendation, but the brightness level places it below some of the company’s higher-output smart bulbs.
The bulb also supports adjustable color temperature, allowing users to switch between warm yellow lighting and cool white lighting. The color temperature range runs from 2700K to 6500K, making it useful for different scenarios. A warmer tone can create a cozy atmosphere in the evening, while a cooler white light may be better for reading, working, or daily tasks.
One of the main highlights of the Xiaomi Mijia LED Bulb Bluetooth Mesh Edition is its Bluetooth Mesh support. This technology allows multiple bulbs to connect and work together as part of a smart lighting network. Because the bulbs communicate through Bluetooth Mesh instead of relying heavily on Wi-Fi, they can be controlled without placing extra load on the home router.
Users can manage the bulb through the Xiaomi Home app, where they can adjust brightness, change color temperature, and control multiple lights at once. Voice assistant support is also available, giving users a more convenient hands-free way to turn lights on or off or change lighting settings.
However, the new bulb does not support Matter, the smart home standard designed to improve compatibility between devices from different brands. This means the Mijia LED Bulb Bluetooth Mesh Edition may be best suited for people already using Xiaomi’s smart home ecosystem rather than those looking for broader cross-brand smart home integration.
The biggest selling point is the price. Xiaomi has priced the Mijia LED Bulb Bluetooth Mesh Edition at CNY 29.9, which is around $5. That makes it a very affordable smart bulb compared with many competing smart lighting products on the market. For buyers who want simple smart lighting without spending much, Xiaomi’s new bulb could be an appealing option.
At the moment, the Xiaomi Mijia LED Bulb Bluetooth Mesh Edition has only been announced for China. There is currently no confirmation on whether it will launch in global markets.
