Running from August 20 to 24, Gamescom will offer fans a chance to experience the Xbox ROG Ally and Ally X firsthand. As detailed in a blog post, the Xbox broadcast aims to confirm pricing, announce the official release date, and open pre-orders at the event’s start.
Spanish gaming insider @extas1s initially revealed the pricing on social media, adding credibility when a Spanish retailer briefly listed these details online, only to remove them shortly after. While an exact release date remains unannounced, Microsoft teased a “Holiday 2025” launch during their Xbox Games Showcase in June, with more definite news expected during the Gamescom broadcast.
Developed with Asus, these handhelds promise a console-like experience with a customized Windows 11 interface and Xbox integration. The ROG Ally boasts an AMD Ryzen Z2 A chip, 16GB of RAM, 512GB SSD, and a 60Wh battery. In contrast, the Ally X features an upgraded Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme chip, 24GB of RAM, 1TB SSD, and a larger 80Wh battery.
Both devices will sport a vibrant 7-inch 1080p 120Hz IPS display and support Xbox Game Pass, Steam, Epic Games Store, and more.
