Xbox Network Outage Leaves Thousands Unable to Sign In, Access Store, or Use Apps
Thousands of Xbox players are reporting problems with Xbox Network services today, with many saying they cannot sign in, access their profiles, use the Xbox Store, or connect to certain apps. The disruption comes shortly after PlayStation Network experienced a major outage that prevented players from accessing accounts, browsing the store, and playing online for several hours.
Reports of the Xbox Network outage began surfacing several hours ago, as players started posting complaints online about failed sign-ins and interrupted services. Around the same time, outage tracking reports began rising sharply, suggesting that the issue was affecting users in multiple regions rather than being limited to a small number of accounts.
At first, the official Xbox service status page showed no major problems. However, Microsoft has since updated its status information and confirmed that several key Xbox services are currently experiencing issues.
According to Microsoft, the affected areas include Accounts & Profile, Store & Subscriptions, and Apps & Mobile. Because of this, some Xbox users may be unable to sign in to their profiles, may be unexpectedly disconnected after logging in, or may run into other account-related errors. Players may also notice that certain games, add-ons, or other content do not appear correctly in the Xbox Store while the outage is ongoing.
The company has not yet explained what caused the Xbox Network problems. However, Microsoft says its engineers are aware of the disruption and are actively working to fix it. For now, there is no confirmed timeline for when Xbox services will be fully restored.
The outage has already lasted for several hours, leaving many players frustrated as they wait for updates. Since Xbox Network is essential for online multiplayer, digital purchases, subscriptions, cloud features, and account access, even a partial disruption can affect a large number of users across consoles, PC, and mobile apps.
Players experiencing issues are advised to wait for Microsoft to restore services rather than repeatedly trying to change account settings or reinstall apps, as the problem appears to be on the network side. Normal access should return once the company resolves the ongoing service disruption.
