Honeycomb Echo Aviation Controller XPC brings compact flight controls to Xbox Series X|S
Flight simulation fans on Xbox Series X|S may soon have a more practical way to take to the skies. Honeycomb is preparing a new console-focused version of its compact Echo Aviation Controller, called the Echo Aviation Controller XPC, designed with Microsoft Flight Simulator players in mind.
Until now, the Echo Aviation Controller has been available for PC, where it works with Microsoft Flight Simulator and other aviation titles. It can also be used on Mac with X-Plane. The upcoming XPC model expands the lineup by adding Xbox Series X|S support, giving console players a dedicated flight controller without needing a bulky cockpit-style setup.
The Echo Aviation Controller XPC is built as a 3-in-1 flight control solution. Instead of using separate rudder pedals, throttle controls, and a yoke or joystick setup, Honeycomb combines the key controls into one compact gamepad-style device. That makes it especially appealing for players who want a cleaner desk, a simpler living-room setup, or a controller that can be carried easily between locations.
For Xbox users, this could be a major advantage. Traditional flight simulator accessories often require clamps, desk space, and careful positioning. The Echo Aviation Controller XPC is designed to avoid that hassle, offering a lightweight and portable alternative that still provides more aviation-focused control than a standard Xbox controller.
The existing PC and Mac version has already shown that the compact design can work well for flight simulation. Setup with X-Plane has generally been straightforward, although rudder configuration may require some extra adjustment. Microsoft Flight Simulator can be more complicated to configure, largely because of the game’s control-mapping interface rather than the hardware itself.
That makes the Xbox version particularly interesting. Console players usually expect accessories to work with minimal setup, so proper controller profiles will be important. Honeycomb currently supports users with downloadable profiles for the existing model, and many players will be hoping Microsoft Flight Simulator adds built-in profiles for the Echo Aviation Controller XPC on Xbox Series X|S through a future update.
Honeycomb plans to launch the Echo Aviation Controller XPC in fall 2026. Pricing has not yet been confirmed. The current PC and Mac version is also not widely available at the moment, though Honeycomb says it should return soon. For now, interested buyers can watch for availability updates and further launch details as the release window approaches.
