GTA 6 Fan Video Imagines a Bug-Filled Launch Like Cyberpunk 2077
The launch of Grand Theft Auto 6 is expected to be one of the biggest gaming events in years, but a new fan-made video has turned that excitement into a hilarious nightmare scenario. The clip imagines what GTA 6 might look like if it launched with the kind of major technical problems that made Cyberpunk 2077 infamous back in 2020.
Shared widely on Reddit, the video was created by YouTuber Skill Issue and posted by user u/Jealous-Beautiful599. Instead of showing the polished, cinematic open-world experience fans expect from Rockstar Games, the parody transforms GTA 6 footage into a chaotic collection of wild glitches, broken animations, and absurd bugs.
The video begins with a distorted intro before quickly spiraling into total madness. A car appears to sink directly into the ground, Lucia is seen spinning uncontrollably through the sky during a parachute sequence, and Jason’s head randomly appears without the rest of his body. Later in the clip, bikers seem to be riding invisible motorcycles, while another bizarre moment shows Jason lighting Brian Heder’s cigar even though the character is already on fire.
The result is a deliberately ridiculous version of GTA 6 that plays on one of the gaming community’s biggest fears: a massive, highly anticipated release arriving in a broken state.
Despite the exaggerated chaos, many fans on Reddit found the video hilarious. The joke landed especially well because Cyberpunk 2077’s troubled launch remains one of the most memorable examples of a hyped game failing to meet technical expectations at release. However, a large number of commenters believe Rockstar is unlikely to let Grand Theft Auto 6 suffer the same fate.
One Reddit user, u/Walmart_Prices, summed up the popular view by saying the video is funny, but Rockstar would never allow something that disastrous to happen. Other fans agreed, arguing that Rockstar has built its reputation on highly polished open-world games and would not risk damaging the launch of its biggest title yet.
A major reason for that confidence is the GTA 6 gameplay footage already shown publicly. Rockstar has stated that the footage was captured on PlayStation 5, which has led many players to believe the game is already running well on current-generation hardware. That point matters because Cyberpunk 2077’s biggest launch issues were especially severe on older consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
CD Projekt later admitted that the game had not been properly optimized for those last-generation systems. GTA 6, on the other hand, is currently planned for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S only. By skipping older hardware, Rockstar may have a better chance of delivering a smoother, more stable experience at launch.
Still, not everyone is completely convinced. Some fans have pointed out that Rockstar’s past releases were not always perfect on day one. GTA IV, for example, had performance and technical issues when it first launched, particularly on PC. Red Dead Redemption 2 also required updates after release to address bugs and improve performance.
Even so, Rockstar has never had a launch disaster on the level of Cyberpunk 2077. The studio is known for spending years polishing its biggest games, and expectations for Grand Theft Auto 6 are incredibly high. With more than a decade separating GTA 5 and GTA 6, fans are hoping the long development time results in a game that feels refined from the very first day.
The fan-made glitch video is ultimately just a parody, but it taps into a real concern shared by modern gamers. In an era where major releases often arrive with day-one patches, performance problems, and missing features, players are more cautious than ever. Even a studio as respected as Rockstar is not immune to scrutiny.
GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19. Until then, fans will continue analyzing every trailer, screenshot, and gameplay detail while hoping the final release delivers the technical polish and open-world spectacle the series is famous for.
For now, the bug-filled fan video is best viewed as a funny “what if” scenario rather than a serious warning. But it also serves as a reminder of just how much pressure surrounds Grand Theft Auto 6. When the most anticipated game in the world finally arrives, players will expect nothing less than a smooth, stunning, and unforgettable experience.
