Persona 5: The Phantom X Version 4.6 Update Adds Wavecatcher Miyu, Summer Events, and Major Gameplay Improvements
Persona 5: The Phantom X has received its Version 4.6 update on PC, iOS, and Android, bringing a new 5-Star Phantom Thief, fresh summer content, helpful quality of life changes, and new limited-time rewards for players to collect.
The update, released on July 30, 2026, continues the game’s seasonal storyline while giving players more control in battle, easier access to upgrade materials, and additional reasons to log in throughout the event period.
The biggest highlight of Persona 5: The Phantom X Version 4.6 is the arrival of Wavecatcher Miyu, a new 5-Star Ice Sweeper Phantom Thief with the code name Puppet. She is featured in the Most Wanted Phantom Idol Contracts banner, which is available until August 13, 2026.
Wavecatcher Miyu launches alongside the second part of the summer event storyline, Haunted Beach Shack: Menacing Maw from the Murky Marine. This event continues the beach-themed seasonal arc and gives players more story content to explore, along with time-limited rewards.
Players can also take part in the Bonus in a Bottle campaign during the same period. This event lets players choose one reward from a Seashell Bottle and one reward from a Pearl Bottle, offering extra incentives for active players. A six-day cumulative login event is also live, allowing players to earn up to seven Platinum Milicoins simply by logging in.
Version 4.6 also introduces a useful combat feature for Gates of the Nightmare Catcher. In the Devourer of Dreams mode, players can now enable Life Sustainment, which prevents a boss’s HP from falling below 1 percent. This gives players more control over battle timing, especially when trying to activate weakened debuffs without accidentally ending the fight too early.
Another important improvement is the removal of story progress requirements for Realm of Repression under the Training Materials menu. This means players can now challenge Shadows in Recollections and farm important upgrade materials without needing to finish specific main story chapters first. For newer players or those building multiple characters, this should make progression feel smoother and less restrictive.
The update also changes how duplicate 5-Star character pulls work. Once a unit has been obtained more than seven times, additional copies will now provide Crystal Cognigems. This new currency can be exchanged for rewards in the Exchange Shop.
The amount of Crystal Cognigems earned depends on the character. Phantom Thieves featured in the current Phantom Idol Draft X provide four Crystal Cognigems per extra pull, while characters outside the featured selection provide ten. This gives long-term players more value from repeated high-rarity pulls.
Collectors also have something new to chase with the Maid for the Beach capsule toy collection. These limited-time items can be displayed in Akihabara and will remain available until September 24, 2026.
Version 4.6 also adds a new Bond side story featuring Ichigo Shikano, available until August 27, 2026. In addition, a new Phantom Pass season has started, bringing fresh seasonal missions and rewards that will run through September 9, 2026.
One planned addition has been delayed. Limited 5-Star Weapons and Artisan’s Mod Orders, which were previously expected to arrive in the Salamander Coin Exchange with Version 4.6, are now scheduled for a September update instead.
Overall, Persona 5: The Phantom X Version 4.6 delivers a strong mix of new character content, summer event rewards, battle improvements, and progression updates. With Wavecatcher Miyu joining the roster, new login bonuses available, and more flexible farming options, the latest update gives both casual and dedicated players plenty to do before the next major content drop.
