Vivo X Fold6 Debuts With Ultra-Bright Displays, Premium Storage Options, and Global Launch Plans
Vivo has officially introduced the X Fold6 in China, bringing another high-end foldable smartphone into the spotlight. Designed for users who want a large-screen device without giving up a practical outer display, the Vivo X Fold6 combines premium display technology, flagship-level memory options, and an advanced camera accessory ecosystem.
On the outside, the Vivo X Fold6 features a 6.51-inch AMOLED cover display fitted into a body measuring 157.16 x 74.26 mm. The panel, supplied by BOE, is built for sharp visuals and smooth everyday use, offering a resolution of 2,528 x 1,120 pixels, a pixel density of 424 PPI, and a 120 Hz refresh rate.
Brightness is one of the key highlights. The cover screen can reach up to 5,000 nits peak brightness, making it suitable for outdoor use and bright environments where many smartphone displays can struggle.
Unfolding the device reveals a larger 8.02-inch foldable display. Vivo has kept the experience consistent across both screens, as the inner panel matches the outer display with the same 424 PPI pixel density, 5,000-nit peak brightness, and 120 Hz refresh rate. This should help deliver a seamless transition between using the phone folded and fully opened, whether for multitasking, video playback, reading, gaming, or productivity.
The Vivo X Fold6 starts at CNY 7,999, which is approximately $1,175, for the base model with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Buyers looking for more power and storage can move up through higher configurations, with prices increasing in CNY 1,000 steps.
At the top of the standard lineup, the Vivo X Fold6 is available with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage for CNY 10,999, or about $1,616. Vivo is also offering a limited-edition Black Gold version with the same maximum memory and storage configuration, priced at CNY 11,299, or around $1,660.
For mobile photography enthusiasts, Vivo is also selling a Telephoto Extender accessory for CNY 999, roughly $147. The accessory is also available as part of a Professional Imaging Suite package, which starts at CNY 11,999, or about $1,764. This suggests Vivo is positioning the X Fold6 not only as a premium foldable phone, but also as a device aimed at users who want more flexibility from smartphone photography.
While the Vivo X Fold6 is currently launching in China, the company has confirmed that the foldable will receive a global release later this year. However, exact launch dates, regional availability, and international pricing have not yet been announced.
