Vivo is gearing up to launch its next star player in the mid-range Android market: the highly anticipated S20 Pro, which might be internationally branded as the V50 Pro. This upcoming marvel from Vivo is rumored to feature a camera setup that’s typically reserved for high-end devices, with all sensors boasting an impressive 50MP resolution.
As of today, for a price of around INR 46,990 (roughly $556), Vivo’s V40 Pro is marketed as the “Zeiss Portrait Master,” available via Amazon in regions like India. This device packs a punch with its quad-camera system, including three rear lenses and a selfie shooter, each equipped with a 50MP sensor.
According to renowned leaker Digital Chat Station, the S20 Pro follows in the footsteps of its predecessor. It’s reported to feature the same high-quality Sony IMX921 main rear camera, alongside an upgraded 3X zoom periscope lens centered around the IMX882 sensor, mirroring what’s found in the Realme 13 Pro. The upcoming model is also expected to retain the ultrawide-angle camera from the previous generation, while getting a boost with a larger 6.67-inch 1.5K display. This new screen scrubs out the uneven curves seen in the S19/V40 series, powered by the efficient yet robust Dimensity 9300+ chip.
However, there’s a catch: the device might still be equipped with a 5,500mAh battery. While this could help keep the smartphone’s sleek profile, it might lag behind competitors that offer larger battery capacities as a key selling feature.
Vivo’s strategy with the S20 Pro seems solid, offering upgraded specs in an elegant package. But are these upgrades enough to give it an edge in the ever-competitive mid-range market? Only time will tell if Vivo’s new addition will capture the hearts of tech aficionados worldwide.
