Upcoming OPPO Reno12 and Reno12 Pro to Feature 50MP Selfie Cameras and New Processors

The anticipated OPPO Reno12 and Reno12 Pro are expected to be the next big thing in OPPO’s Reno lineup, bringing several upgrades over their predecessors with a potential release in 2024. Both the Reno12 and its Pro version are rumored to showcase curved 6.7-inch OLED displays with a return to FHD+ resolutions, a deviation from the 1.5K panels introduced with the Reno11 series in China.

The non-Pro model of the Reno12 may introduce a new chipset, known only by the codename 24M, which is speculated to be either a Max or Ultra variant of the recently released 8300 series. Meanwhile, the Reno12 Pro is anticipated to make a significant shift in processing power by adopting the Dimensity 9200, moving away from the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor used in the past.

Camera upgrades are also on the agenda, as both devices are expected to boast dual 50MP rear cameras, one with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), and potentially a new telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom to replace the 32MP telephoto camera of the previous series. Additionally, a major step forward in selfie technology is rumored, with both models having a 50MP punch-hole front camera, surpassing the 32MP “Ultra-Clear Selfie Camera” of the Reno11-series.

Price-wise, the Reno12 is projected to be priced starting at around $499 with 12GB of RAM, while the Reno12 Pro could be marketed starting at approximately $799. Consumers eagerly awaiting these updates will likely find a balance of premium features and competitive pricing with the upcoming Reno12 and Reno12 Pro smartphones.

As the launch of these new OPPO devices draws closer, tech enthusiasts will be keeping an eye out for official confirmations on specifications, pricing, and availability, to see how these rumors stack up to the final products.
