HP has just unveiled its latest 14-inch business subnotebook, and it’s shaping up to be a standout in the EliteBook lineup, primarily due to its impressive battery life. While many might highlight its AI capabilities, the real star here could be the longevity of its power.
Thanks to the new Lunar Lake CPU and a power-efficient 60 Hz IPS touchscreen, the EliteBook X G1i 14 can run for over 18 hours during continuous WLAN browsing, even at a brightness of 150 nits. This performance outpaces many competitors and even other models within the EliteBook series.
There are three key reasons for this extended battery life. First, the laptop offers configuration options, including a choice between a smaller 56 Wh battery or a larger 68 Wh pack for those who prioritize longer usage.
Secondly, the Lunar Lake CPU is designed for high performance-per-watt, outperforming previous generations. Laptops using this processor, like the Dell Pro 14 Premium, also boast impressive battery life, surpassing those with older CPUs.
Another contributing factor is the display. The EliteBook X G1i 14 is limited to a 1200p60 or 1600p120 IPS panel, avoiding the high power demands of OLED displays found in other models like the EliteBook Ultra G1i 14.
While these factors enhance the laptop’s battery life, opting for a smaller battery or higher resolution panel will naturally impact the duration. Overall, the EliteBook X G1i 14 offers a blend of efficiency, performance, and adaptability, making it worth a closer look for those in need of long-lasting power in a compact form.
