Universal MFG Unlocker 1.5.0 brings DLSS Multi Frame Generation to more GPUs with Preset C support
The PC modding scene is once again proving how quickly community developers can expand the limits of modern graphics technology. Universal MFG Unlocker v1.5.0 has been released, and it is one of the most notable updates yet for players who want to experiment with frame generation features on GPUs that are not officially supported.
Created by developer dashdogy, Universal MFG Unlocker is the new name for the project previously known as RTX40MFG-Unlock. The latest version adds support for NVIDIA’s newest DLSS Frame Generation Preset C, improves compatibility for RTX 30 Series graphics cards, and introduces Intel XeSS Multi Frame Generation support across NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel hardware through OptiScaler 10 integration.
This release is especially interesting because NVIDIA’s DLSS Multi Frame Generation was originally positioned as an RTX 50 Series feature. However, modders have continued to find ways to bring parts of this technology to older GPU generations, including RTX 40, RTX 30, and even RTX 20 Series cards in some cases. Universal MFG Unlocker 1.5.0 pushes that effort further, particularly for users with Ada Lovelace and Ampere-based GPUs.
One of the biggest additions in this update is support for DLSS Frame Generation 310.9.16 and NVIDIA’s new Preset C. This preset focuses on performance by using a lighter and faster AI model. The trade-off is that image quality may be slightly reduced in some situations, but the benefit can be significant, with potential FPS gains of up to 35% depending on the game, settings, and hardware.
Universal MFG Unlocker 1.5.0 already allows RTX 40 and RTX 30 Series users to access this new Preset C option. In supported scenarios, users can also enable 3x, 4x, 5x, and 6x Multi Frame Generation modes. Preset C can be selected through the mod’s own menu or through DLSS override options available in NVIDIA’s software tools.
The update also marks an important milestone for RTX 30 Series owners. According to the developer, support for Ampere GPUs is now considered stable. Frame pacing has been improved, especially when using higher Multi Frame Generation multipliers, and the mod now works with the latest NVIDIA-signed DLSS Frame Generation runtime.
That said, there is still an important caveat. RTX 30 compatibility with DLSS Frame Generation 310.9.16 has currently been validated mostly through offline testing rather than broad real-world gameplay across many titles. In other words, results may vary from game to game, and users should expect some trial and error.
For RTX 40 Series users, the experience appears more straightforward. Testing on an RTX 4090-based system showed that Universal MFG Unlocker 1.5.0 could enable DLSS Multi Frame Generation with the latest Preset C successfully. This makes the mod especially appealing for RTX 40 owners who want access to newer DLSS behavior without waiting for broader official support.
Another major feature in Universal MFG Unlocker 1.5.0 is OptiScaler 10 integration. With this addition, the tool can operate as a plugin and enable XeSS Multi Frame Generation at 2x to 6x on a wide range of GPUs. This includes NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel graphics cards.
This is notable because it expands the mod beyond NVIDIA-focused DLSS features. By using Intel’s multi-frame model through OptiScaler’s existing Frame Generation framework, Universal MFG Unlocker becomes more flexible and more useful for players on different hardware platforms. For PC gamers with non-NVIDIA GPUs, this could open the door to new performance-enhancing options that were previously out of reach.
Version 1.5.0 also includes several technical fixes and compatibility improvements. The mod now supports a newer Streamline runtime, resolves issues related to Special K integration, restores mouse functionality in Dying Light: The Beast, and fixes a launch crash affecting Gears of War: E-Day.
Even with these improvements, Universal MFG Unlocker remains experimental software. Compatibility can differ depending on the game, driver version, GPU model, installed tools, and configuration. Players interested in using it should understand that some titles may work smoothly while others may show visual artifacts, unstable frame pacing, crashes, or input-related issues.
Still, Universal MFG Unlocker 1.5.0 is an impressive example of how fast the PC gaming community can move. Features that were originally tied to newer GPU generations are now being tested on older hardware, giving enthusiasts more ways to extend the life and performance of their systems.
For gamers with RTX 40 or RTX 30 graphics cards, this release is particularly worth watching. The combination of DLSS Frame Generation Preset C, improved Ampere stability, higher Multi Frame Generation multipliers, and expanded XeSS Multi Frame Generation support makes Universal MFG Unlocker 1.5.0 one of the most ambitious frame generation mods currently available.
The latest version can be found through the project’s official release page, but users should proceed carefully, read the instructions, and keep in mind that this is still a community-made experimental tool rather than an officially supported GPU feature.
