Ulefone is getting ready to expand its rugged Android tablet lineup with two new models: the RugKing Pad 2 Pro and the RugKing Pad Pro. Designed for people who need a tough, travel-ready device for work sites, outdoor use, and demanding environments, both tablets are built to handle water, dust, and accidental drops thanks to IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810H certifications. Ulefone also confirms both tablets will ship with Android 16, positioning them as modern options for users who want a newer Android experience in a rugged form factor.
One of the most interesting additions is the optional charging station. Instead of relying only on the USB port, you can place the tablet on the dock to power it up. That’s especially useful here because the USB port can then stay available for Ulefone’s uSmart accessories. These include tools like endoscopes and microscopes, which can turn the tablets into practical inspection devices for maintenance work, field diagnostics, and technical jobs where a specialized camera or optical accessory saves time.
Connectivity is another clear focus. Both tablets use the Unisoc T7250 chipset, which includes an integrated cellular modem. They support dual SIM functionality, although there’s an important trade-off: if you want to expand storage using a microSD card, you may have to give up the second SIM slot. In addition to physical SIM support, eSIM is also included, offering more flexibility for travelers or anyone who wants to switch carriers without swapping a card. The catch is that this platform does not support 5G, so buyers who rely on 5G speeds will want to consider that before choosing one of these models.
For navigation and location-based work, the tablets include GNSS with support for major satellite systems like GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo. That can be particularly valuable for outdoor tasks, logistics, and field service scenarios where accurate positioning matters.
The main difference between the two devices comes down to size, battery, and storage. The RugKing Pad 2 Pro offers a larger 10.1-inch display, while the RugKing Pad Pro goes more compact with an 8.68-inch screen, making it easier to carry and better suited to one-hand use in tighter spaces. Memory is the same on both, with 8GB of RAM, but storage differs: the RugKing Pad 2 Pro comes with 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, while the RugKing Pad Pro includes 128GB.
Battery capacity also scales with size. The RugKing Pad Pro packs a 7,100mAh battery, while the RugKing Pad 2 Pro steps up to 10,200mAh. Charging is rated at up to 18W on both models, which isn’t especially fast for batteries this large, but the dock-based charging option may make topping up more convenient in day-to-day use.
Ulefone says the official launch is set for January 26. Pricing is expected to start at well under $250 for the RugKing Pad Pro, while the RugKing Pad 2 Pro is expected to come in just under $300. For buyers looking for rugged Android 16 tablets with eSIM support, dual SIM options, and accessory compatibility for specialized fieldwork, these two new RugKing models look like they’re aiming to deliver a practical mix of durability and utility at relatively accessible prices.
