Ugreen is bringing its LinkStation eGPU Dock to the US, giving laptop, mini PC, and handheld gaming device users a new way to add real desktop-class graphics performance through an external GPU enclosure. First released in China late last year, the LinkStation stands out because it offers both USB4 over USB-C and OCuLink in the same dock—something that’s still relatively rare in the eGPU space.
For everyday flexibility, the LinkStation connects through a 40 Gbps USB4 interface. That makes it a convenient match for many modern laptops and systems that support USB4, and it also works with Thunderbolt 4 and Thunderbolt 3 hardware for broad compatibility. If you’re chasing higher performance and lower overhead, OCuLink is the bigger draw: it provides up to 64 Gbps bandwidth via PCIe 4.0 x4, which can help reduce bottlenecks and deliver a smoother experience, especially on compact desktops and mini PCs designed with OCuLink in mind.
One of the biggest reasons this dock will appeal to power users is its built-in 850W power supply rated 80 Plus Gold. Instead of sourcing a separate PSU, you can focus on choosing the right graphics card and getting set up faster. Ugreen includes modern GPU power options, with 12V-2×6 and PCIe 8-pin connectors intended to comfortably handle demanding cards. The enclosure also supports large GPUs, with clearance for cards up to 370 mm long and up to four slots thick—useful if you’re planning a high-end build with a flagship-class graphics card.
Ugreen went with a semi-open aluminum chassis focused on airflow, paired with a low-RPM fan built into the ATX 3.1 power supply. That open design is meant to keep temperatures in check under load, which matters when you’re running a full-power desktop GPU outside a traditional case.
There are a few tradeoffs to note. This is a streamlined eGPU dock built primarily around graphics expansion, so you won’t find extras like an M.2 SSD slot or an Ethernet port. Connectivity is essentially centered on USB4 and OCuLink. On the plus side, the USB4 connection can also deliver up to 100W of charging power to the connected host device, helping reduce cable clutter for laptop setups.
Pricing in the US is set at $449.99, positioning the Ugreen LinkStation eGPU Dock as a premium option for buyers who want an all-in-one enclosure with both USB4 convenience and OCuLink performance—plus a built-in high-wattage PSU capable of running serious desktop GPUs.
