TSMC has confirmed that its next-generation A14 chip manufacturing process remains on schedule, signaling another major step forward for advanced semiconductor production.
During its July 16 earnings call, the company stated that development of the A14 process is progressing as planned. Risk production is expected to begin in 2027, while full-scale volume production is targeted for 2028.
The A14 process is expected to play a key role in the future of high-performance computing, artificial intelligence hardware, mobile processors, and energy-efficient chip design. As demand continues to grow for faster and more power-efficient semiconductors, TSMC’s roadmap remains closely watched across the technology industry.
Risk production in 2027 means the company will begin early manufacturing runs to test yields, reliability, and production readiness before moving into mass manufacturing.
