Toshihiro Nagoshi, the former head honcho of Sega and the mastermind behind the Yakuza series, is making waves with a captivating new brand video for his game development venture, Nagoshi Studio, established under NetEase Games. Titled “MAKE/HUMAN,” this video not only marks the studio’s third anniversary but also serves as a vibrant showcase of Nagoshi’s creative flair.
The video is a unique fusion of music and striking visuals. With lyrics penned by Nagoshi and brought to life by the bilingual rapper BBY NABE, it embarks on a visually wild ride—from the explosive imagery of Nagoshi’s face to an extraordinary journey through the intricate human body, culminating in the formation of a heart. This artistic endeavor underscores Nagoshi Studio’s commitment to pushing boundaries in storytelling and game design.
Nagoshi Studio operates on the mantra of “people creating, people portraying,” striving to transcend the traditional role of game protagonists to achieve grand dreams and lofty aspirations. The studio aims to craft unique experiences that could only emerge from their creative haven, hoping to inspire gamers worldwide with their innovative craftsmanship.
Although the gaming community eagerly awaits the studio’s first release since its inception in 2021, specific details about their debut game remain under wraps. Over two years ago, fans were teased with hints about a new project. Nagoshi himself expressed a desire to stick to the winning formula of his beloved Yakuza series, blending violence, drama, and humor—a combination that has resonated with audiences globally.
While the promise of exciting new adventures lingers, Nagoshi has previously indicated that the upcoming game will integrate violence as an element but will steer clear of the thriller or horror genres. Set in the bustling heart of Shibuya, Tokyo, Nagoshi Studio was founded with the ambition to draw top Japanese talent, spearheaded by Nagoshi as CEO and president.
As anticipation builds for what Nagoshi Studio has in store, gamers and fans alike can expect something truly unique and authentically Nagoshi. With a bold vision and high expectations, this studio is poised to make a notable impact in the gaming world.
