TinyCorp Unveils “TinyBox”: High-Powered AI Systems with AMD RX 7900 XTX from $15K and NVIDIA RTX 4090 from $25K Now Available

TinyCorp has officially launched its TinyBox AI systems in retail markets, offering configurations with AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 XTX and NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4090. The TinyBox AI Mini Stations aim to bring powerful AI computing capabilities to individual users and small-scale startups, typically priced out of large AI clusters provided by major corporations.

TinyBox AI systems, introduced by TinyCorp and spearheaded by CEO George Hotz, were initially in a testing phase accessible to a limited number of vendors. Now, these systems are available to the general public in two versions: TinyBox “Red” (AMD) priced at $15,000 and TinyBox “Green” (NVIDIA) priced at $25,000.

The “Red” version features six AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPUs, while the “Green” version includes six NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPUs. Both systems offer 144 GB of GPU RAM, a 32-core AMD EPYC CPU, 128 GB of system RAM, and a 4 TB RAID array with a 1 TB boot disk. They also share other specifications such as network capabilities, power supplies, and support for Ubuntu 22.04.

TinyCorp has positioned the “Red” variant as providing the best price-to-performance ratio in the industry, while the “Green” variant represents a higher-end option. Both systems are designed to be freestanding or rack-mounted, catering to the specific needs of AI computing environments.

There was some controversy earlier involving TinyCorp and AMD, with TinyCorp requesting AMD to open-source part of its resources, a request that AMD declined. As a result, TinyCorp hinted at exploring Intel/NVIDIA options, though Intel-based systems have yet to materialize.

TinyCorp aims to solve the supply issues that often plague AI accelerators by using consumer GPUs, which could become a significant advantage if demand for TinyBox AI systems skyrockets. By providing robust AI solutions at a fraction of the cost of large-scale setups, TinyCorp targets startups and individual users looking to enhance their AI capabilities.
