Timex has refreshed its vintage-inspired Cavatina Mini collection with three new models featuring elegant leather straps. The latest additions, identified as TW2Y87700, TW2Y87800, and TW2Y87900, keep the same ultra-compact 17 mm case size as the earlier Cavatina Mini watches, but introduce a more classic dress-watch feel thanks to slim crocodile-grain leather bands.
The Cavatina Mini line is known for its tiny cushion-shaped case and retro styling, and these new leather-strap versions lean even further into that timeless look. Each watch features a simple three-hand layout, full Arabic numeral hour markers, and Timex’s 1960s-style script logo on the dial, giving the collection a refined, old-school charm.
The TW2Y87700 pairs a polished gold-tone cushion case with a champagne dial and a brown natural leather strap. This combination gives the watch a warm, traditional appearance that should appeal to anyone looking for a small, understated everyday dress watch.
For those who prefer a bolder accent, the TW2Y87900 uses the same polished gold-tone case and champagne dial but swaps the brown strap for a striking red leather strap. The result is a more eye-catching version of the Cavatina Mini while still keeping the watch’s vintage personality intact.
The TW2Y87800 offers the most classic monochrome look of the three. It features a polished silver-tone case, a clean white dial, and a black crocodile-grain leather strap. This model is likely to be the most versatile option, pairing easily with both casual and formal outfits.
All three watches come with narrow 8 mm natural leather straps finished with a crocodile-grain texture. The slim strap size matches the miniature proportions of the case, helping preserve the delicate, jewelry-like character of the Cavatina Mini collection.
Beyond the new strap choices and color combinations, the core specifications remain familiar. The cushion-shaped case measures 17 mm across and is approximately 8 mm thick. A domed mineral crystal protects the dial, adding to the retro-inspired silhouette.
Inside, the watches are powered by Timex’s battery-operated M288 quartz movement. The movement uses an SR521SW/R379 cell and provides standard hour, minute, and second timekeeping. As expected for a compact fashion-focused watch, the movement keeps things simple and practical.
Water resistance is rated at 3 ATM, meaning the new Cavatina Mini models are designed to handle light splashes but should not be worn for swimming, showering, or extended exposure to water.
Official US pricing has not yet appeared through Timex’s own channels at the time of writing. In Europe, early retail listings show the TW2Y87700 priced at €119, the TW2Y87800 at €109, and the TW2Y87900 at €119.
With their tiny case size, vintage dial design, and new leather strap options, the latest Timex Cavatina Mini watches offer a stylish alternative for fans of small dress watches. The collection now feels more versatile, giving buyers a choice between warm gold-tone elegance, a bold red-strap statement, or a clean silver-and-black classic.
