Facer is teaming up with Timex to bring some of the most recognizable Timex watch designs to smartwatches, giving Wear OS, Apple Watch, and other supported devices a fresh dose of classic American watch style.
The new Timex smartwatch face collection is set to launch in fall 2026 through the Facer app. It will include digital versions inspired by three well-known Timex lines: Marlin, Expedition, and T80. These designs will be available in Facer’s Watch Brands section, a dedicated area for official watchmaker collections.
The partnership blends Timex’s long-running watch heritage with modern smartwatch customization. Founded in Waterbury, Connecticut more than 170 years ago, Timex built its reputation on accessible, durable, and stylish watches. Now, the brand is bringing that familiar identity to digital watch faces for a new generation of smartwatch users.
The Timex Marlin-inspired faces will appeal to fans of vintage dress watches. The original Marlin is known for its clean mid-century look, and Timex revived the model in recent years with a compact hand-wound version that became popular among enthusiasts. On a smartwatch, that same retro charm could give users a more refined and timeless display.
The Expedition collection will focus on the rugged outdoor style that has long been associated with Timex. These faces are expected to suit users who prefer practical, adventure-ready designs with clear readability and everyday usefulness.
The T80 faces will bring a very different personality to the lineup. Inspired by Timex’s 1980s digital watch, the T80 is known for its rectangular display, segmented numerals, and nostalgic Indiglo-style look. For smartwatch owners who enjoy retro digital aesthetics, this could become one of the standout options in the collection.
Facer says the Timex watch faces are being designed to balance appearance and function, meaning they should not only look like the original watches but also work well for daily smartwatch use. That could include easy-to-read layouts, practical complications, and styles that fit both casual and formal settings.
Facer CEO Ariel Vardi said Timex has helped shape how watches look for millions of people, and this partnership gives the brand a chance to influence how smartwatches look as well. The move also reflects a larger trend: traditional watch companies are looking for new ways to reach younger audiences who may wear a smartwatch instead of a conventional timepiece.
Pricing for the Timex smartwatch faces has not yet been announced. However, Facer has listed Timex among the officially licensed collections coming to Facer Premium, the platform’s paid subscription tier. Users who want to know when the collection becomes available can follow the Timex profile inside the Facer app for launch alerts.
The Timex launch is part of a broader Facer storefront update. The app now organizes watch faces into categories such as For You, Entertainment, Watch Brands, Facer Originals, Health & Fitness, and Sports. The Watch Brands area already includes officially licensed digital designs from other established names, giving smartwatch users a more organized way to find premium watch-inspired faces.
Facer is also expanding its entertainment collections, with new faces based on Angry Birds and Sonic the Hedgehog planned for release. In addition, the company is giving more attention to Facer Originals, a program focused on independent designers who create exclusive watch faces for the platform.
Another growing part of the app is Looks, a community feature where users can show how they match watch faces with watch bands, outfits, and personal style. This gives smartwatch customization a more fashion-focused angle, making the watch face feel like part of a complete look rather than just a digital screen.
Existing Facer users can access the redesigned storefront by updating the app on Android or iOS. Once the Timex collection launches, supported smartwatch owners will be able to add Marlin, Expedition, and T80-inspired faces directly through the app.
For anyone who loves classic Timex watches but prefers wearing a smartwatch, this partnership could be one of the most appealing digital watch face releases of the year. It brings together vintage analog charm, rugged outdoor styling, and retro digital design in a way that makes smartwatch customization feel more personal and familiar.
