Tides of Tomorrow Now Set to Arrive in April After Delay

Deep Silver and Digixart, the studio behind Road 96, have announced that their upcoming narrative adventure Tides of Tomorrow is being delayed. The game was originally targeting a February launch, but it’s now scheduled to arrive on April 22. A playable demo is already available for anyone who wants an early look at what the team is building.

When Tides of Tomorrow launches, it will be available on Windows PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.

According to the developers, the shift in release date comes after “extensive feedback” collected from the publicly available demo as well as an ongoing closed beta. The team says it needs additional development time to respond to player input and implement improvements, with the goal of delivering the strongest possible experience for the story-driven adventure.

Set on the oceanic planet Elynd, Tides of Tomorrow drops players into a world still reeling from the Great Flood. Survival isn’t just about staying afloat, though. A deadly “plastification” is spreading and threatens to wipe out life entirely, pushing you to search for answers, explore precarious floating platforms, and navigate dangers shaped by the world around you.

One of the game’s standout ideas is how other people’s choices can ripple into your journey. Along the way, you’ll meet a wide range of characters with distinct personalities, priorities, and opinions about Elynd’s fate. Your decisions determine who becomes a trusted ally and who turns into a lasting threat. At the same time, you’re encouraged to keep track of what your friends—or even your favorite streamers—are doing in their own playthroughs, because their actions can directly influence your version of the story. That added layer is designed to make the narrative feel unpredictable, reactive, and uniquely personal.

Tides of Tomorrow focuses on a mix of exploration, decision-making, and sailing-based survival as you move through unstable waters. You’ll gather resources to improve your odds, discover varied floating locations across distinct environments, and cross paths with memorable characters who might support your mission—or complicate it when you least expect it.

Key gameplay elements include following friends or favorite streamers on their own adventures, sailing through dangerous waters while collecting supplies, exploring diverse floating platforms, and dealing with characters who can either help you survive or stand in your way.

With the new April 22 release date, Digixart is aiming to use the extra time to polish the experience based on real player feedback—so when you finally set sail on Elynd, the adventure hits with the narrative impact and gameplay smoothness the team is aiming for.
