Thunderobot is preparing to introduce a larger version of its ultra-light gaming laptop, the Zero Air 16, with an official showcase planned for Bilibili World 2026 in Shanghai from July 10 to July 12. The new model expands the Zero Air lineup from the previous 15-inch design to a 16-inch display while keeping portability as one of its biggest selling points.
According to the early teaser shared by the company, the Thunderobot Zero Air 16 weighs just 1.64 kg. That is only around 60 grams heavier than the earlier 15-inch Zero Air, which is impressive considering the larger screen and chassis. For gamers, students, and creators who want a bigger display without carrying a bulky machine, this could make the Zero Air 16 one of the more interesting thin-and-light gaming laptops of 2026.
The laptop is also lighter than several competing 16-inch gaming notebooks. For comparison, the Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 2026 weighs around 1.96 kg, making Thunderobot’s upcoming model noticeably easier to carry. However, there may be a trade-off in graphics performance. While some rival machines can be equipped with higher-end Nvidia GPUs, the Zero Air 16 teaser points to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 with 8GB of GDDR7 memory.
The processor listed in the teaser is the Intel Core Ultra 7 356H, a 16-core Panther Lake chip. This places the Zero Air 16 in the premium performance laptop category, though it appears to sit slightly below the earlier 15-inch Zero Air configuration, which featured a Core Ultra 9 386H. Still, the combination of Intel’s next-generation mobile processor and RTX 5070 graphics should give the laptop enough power for modern gaming, content creation, multitasking, and AI-enhanced workloads.
The teased configuration also includes 32GB of LPDDR5 memory and 1TB of storage. That should be enough for most users who want fast everyday performance, smooth game loading times, and room for a decent game library or creative projects.
One of the key reasons behind the Zero Air 16’s low weight is its carbon fiber chassis. Carbon fiber is often used in premium laptops because it can provide strength while reducing weight, making it a smart choice for a gaming laptop designed around portability. If Thunderobot manages to combine that lightweight body with good thermals, the Zero Air 16 could stand out in a crowded market.
There are still several important details missing. Thunderobot has not yet revealed the RTX 5070 power limit, which will play a major role in real-world gaming performance. The company also has not confirmed the cooling system, screen resolution, refresh rate, brightness, battery capacity, or full port selection. These specifications will determine whether the Zero Air 16 is a true high-performance gaming laptop or more of a portable productivity machine with gaming hardware inside.
The Thunderobot Zero Air 16 is expected to receive a full launch in August after its public appearance at Bilibili World 2026. Pricing has not been announced yet, and there is currently no confirmation about availability outside China.
For now, the Zero Air 16 looks like a promising option for anyone searching for a lightweight 16-inch gaming laptop with modern Intel and Nvidia hardware. If Thunderobot can deliver strong cooling, a high-quality display, and competitive pricing, this could become one of the most appealing portable gaming laptops in its class.
