Thunderobot JU24F160L launches as an affordable 24-inch 4K gaming monitor with 160Hz refresh rate
Thunderobot has unveiled the JU24F160L, a compact 23.8-inch gaming monitor designed for players who want sharp 4K visuals, a fast refresh rate, and modern connectivity without paying flagship-level prices. The monitor is set to go on sale in China on August 10 with a launch price of CNY 1,499, which is roughly US$220.
The biggest highlight of the Thunderobot JU24F160L is its smaller 23.8-inch 4K display. While many 4K gaming monitors use 27-inch panels, Thunderobot’s compact approach gives this model a much higher pixel density. The company claims the screen reaches 185 PPI, making text, game assets, images, and videos appear extremely crisp. That is around 13% sharper than a typical 27-inch 4K monitor, which could make it especially appealing for gamers, content creators, and productivity users who prefer a smaller desk setup.
The monitor uses a Fast IPS panel with a 3840 × 2160 resolution and a 160Hz refresh rate. This combination makes it suitable for both high-detail single-player games and smoother competitive gameplay. It also supports a 1 ms GTG response time, MPRT, and Adaptive Sync, helping reduce motion blur, screen tearing, and stuttering during fast-paced action.
Brightness is rated at up to 400 nits, and the panel includes an anti-glare matte coating to improve visibility in bright rooms. HDR support is also included, giving compatible games and media a wider dynamic range, although users should expect entry-level HDR performance due to the monitor’s brightness class.
Color performance is another key selling point. Thunderobot says the JU24F160L covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and 99% of sRGB, making it useful for gaming, streaming, casual editing, and general creative work. Each unit is factory calibrated with a Delta E rating below 2, which should help deliver more accurate colors out of the box.
The monitor also includes several eye-comfort features. These include DC dimming, hardware-level low blue light technology, and adjustable blue light settings. For users who spend long hours gaming, working, or studying, these features may help reduce eye fatigue. Built-in stereo speakers are also included, offering a basic audio option for users who do not want to connect external speakers or headphones.
Thunderobot has added several gaming-focused tools to the JU24F160L. These include an FPS counter, dark scene enhancement for better visibility in shadow-heavy areas, and AI crosshair adjustment. These features are aimed at competitive gamers who want quick access to on-screen performance and visibility tools.
Multitasking support is also available through Picture-in-Picture and Picture-by-Picture modes. These allow users to display two video sources at the same time, which can be useful for streamers, dual-device setups, or users who want to connect a PC and console to the same monitor.
Connectivity is strong for the price. The Thunderobot JU24F160L includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, two DisplayPort 1.4 inputs, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. Both HDMI and DisplayPort connections support up to 4K at 160Hz, making the monitor suitable for modern gaming PCs and current-generation consoles.
The included stand offers a wide range of ergonomic adjustments. Users get 100 mm of height adjustment, ±90° pivot, ±30° swivel, and tilt from -5° to 20°. There is also a hidden headset hook, helping keep the desk cleaner and more organized. Thunderobot includes a 1.5-meter DisplayPort cable in the box.
At around US$220, the Thunderobot JU24F160L stands out as a surprisingly feature-rich 4K gaming monitor. With its sharp 23.8-inch Fast IPS panel, 160Hz refresh rate, HDMI 2.1, wide color coverage, and ergonomic stand, it could become an attractive option for gamers looking for a compact high-resolution display.
For now, the JU24F160L has only been confirmed for the Chinese market. Thunderobot has not yet announced whether the monitor will be released globally.
